WinGIS Standard
WinGIS Standard is the basic version of our GIS product portfolio. The data management of geographical information is handled in an object oriented database - PROGIS file format (AMP).
Geographical data are differentiated into raster data (ortho- / satellite images) and vector data (points, lines, areas, circles, arcs, symbols, texts, ole objects, …)

WinGIS supports the following image formats:
BMP, AutoCAD DXF, ER-Mapper ECW, GIF, JPEG, PCX/DCX, PNG, TIFF, WMF and also the encrypted PROGIS formats PRE/PRI.

referencing of images the TAB format is used. For other formats (TFW, JGW, ...) are conversion tools available.

Geographical objects are structured in a layer hierarchy. A layer defines the attributes of geo objects: Visibility, snap behavior, password lock, scale based generalization, fill styles and line styles, data sources for tooltip texts |
| The internal Database (IDB) is a database module which is bases on MS Access and integrated into the WinGIS user interface. One geographical layer is connected to one table in the IDB. The IDB also provides import and export interfaces to external data sources via ADO. WinGIS Standard also includes import / export interfaces to other GIS based file formats (ASCII, DXF, AMP). |
